7%lost per month

Every month it sits, it is worth less.

IT equipment loses roughly 7% of its value each month after it comes out of service. Most organizations plan the upgrade carefully and never plan the disposal, so the gear sits in a storage room quietly losing value. The sooner TRG gets involved, the more of that value comes back to you.

Services

Five ways we turn decommissioned assets into recovered value

TRG builds a customized plan for each customer, because the right answer depends on what you have, what condition it is in, and how fast you need the space back.

Asset Inventory & Valuation

Independent, market-based valuations of your IT assets. We work with your existing records or take full responsibility for the inventory ourselves.

Direct Purchase

We buy your decommissioned, surplus or distressed equipment outright, so you get immediate payment and the hardware leaves your floor.

Consignment Liquidation

We sell on your behalf into our buyer network, which usually returns more than an outright sale when the equipment still has strong demand.

Data Erasure & Destruction

Data is removed from storage media before equipment leaves your control, so retired hardware never becomes a disclosure problem.

Asset Recycling

Equipment with no remaining resale value is recycled responsibly rather than landfilled, closing out the disposal cleanly.

How it works

A predictable path from storage room to settlement

Once accurate inventory and market valuations exist, disposal stops being guesswork and becomes a plan you can actually forecast.

Inventory

We agree the depth and detail the inventory needs to serve your business purpose, then use your records or build them independently.

Valuation

Market-based estimates grounded in equipment condition, current market economics and comparable sales of similar used and new products.

Proposal

You get multiple disposal options with the tradeoffs laid out, so you can pick the one that fits your current circumstances.

Execution

Data erasure, removal, and then sale, consignment or recycling, depending on the option you chose.

What we buy

Corporate IT infrastructure, at any scale

TRG primarily deals in enterprise infrastructure. If you are not sure whether what you have is worth anything, that is exactly what the valuation is for.

About TRG

Built out of the dot-com collapse, still here 25 years later.

In the 1990s, TRG's people designed and built large data networks and network centers around the country for major ISPs. When those companies went bankrupt after 2000, Technology Resource Group was formed in Phoenix to dispose of the resulting surplus IT equipment as a service to the US Bankruptcy Court.

That start produced two things that still matter: deep knowledge of how this equipment is actually built and valued, and a large network of buyers and sellers to move it through. Since then TRG has helped IT organizations of every size recover value from decommissioned assets.

Why organizations use TRG

  • Independent valuations, not a take-it-or-leave-it offer
  • Multiple disposal options presented side by side
  • We can assume full responsibility for the inventory, saving your IT staff the internal time
  • A single provider covering purchase, consignment, erasure and recycling
  • 25 years of market pricing history behind every estimate
